March 2018

March appears to be coming in like a lion, so hopefully it will go out like a lamb and we can have real spring soon. I am currently waiting on pre-orders from the upcoming Nashville Needlework Market. The Market Party is on Wednesday, March 14th from 10 AM to 7 PM. Please join us to see the new releases and sign up for prize drawings throughout the day. The following weekend is our annual Stitching Friends Retreat. This year our featured teacher is Beth Seal of Summerhouse Stitche Workes. She will be leaving us a trunk show of her models after the retreat so we can all enjoy them. Currently we have the Teresa Layman trunk show of knotwork. The detail is incredible in these tiny pieces. You have to see them to really appreciate them. And after the trunk shows its time for all of you to display your needlework for the month of May in the lobby of the Canal Barn. Visitors to the barn will be allowed to vote for their favorite piece in the Exhibit and the stitcher who receives the most votes will win a gift certificate to A Stitcher’s Garden. All completed work is welcome. Drop-off dates will be in the next newsletter. Wishing you all a Happy St. Patrick’s Day, Happy Spring, & Happy Stitching, Jan
